Co-President: Alicia Riccardella

Hello MVES Families!  My name is Alicia Riccardella. I am thrilled to be your PTO Co-President for the 2023-2024 school year.  My husband, Nick, and I relocated to Virginia from New Jersey back in 2012, and fell in love with Haymarket and this beautiful community.  We couldn't be more thrilled to be raising our two daughters, Charlotte (a third grader) and Riley (a kindergartener) in this wonderful community.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and own a small group practice in the area.  When I am not at the office, you can probably find me running or biking around Piedmont, shuffling kids to dance, soccer, the ice rink, or spending time with my family.

I look forward to a wonderful year of nurturing connections as we support our students, staff, and families.

 
 
 

Co-President: Michael Emerson

MVES Families, I’m Mike Emerson and back for another year! I'm excited to work with this year's board and new volunteers as your Co-President for the 23/24 school year. I have a rising fifth grader - Rexal and this will be my 9th and final year as part of the MVES PTO Board. My goal for this year is to ensure another exciting year of family events while supporting our wonderful staff. 

 
 
 

Vice President: Shannon Koval

Hi Cougars! My name is Shannon Koval and I'm excited to represent our community as your PTO Vice President. I am a stay-at-home mother to second grade twins, William and Caroline. 

When I'm not on the sidelines cheering my kids on, I love walking my dog. I enjoy doing my own DIY home improvement projects, and I'm known to disappear to my craft room to fulfill that creative itch once in a while.

I look forward to working with you all and leaning on my twelve years in education to make sure we support you all along with our incredible teachers and staff! 

 

Treasurer: Mary Wise

Hello to the awesome MVES Family! I am Mary Wise, and I am super excited to take on the role of your PTO Treasurer for the 2023-2024 school year. My husband Charles and I have been a part of the MVES family since 2019 when our oldest started Kindergarten at this amazing school. We have two daughters Charlotte (fourth grade) and Emily (second grade). We also have a bit of a zoo in our home as we are huge animal lovers and rescuers. We even have retirement plans to start our own rescue sanctuary! While a lot of people would run away from my line of work, I thoroughly enjoy working in human resources and finance. I am very passionate about helping others and building positive relationships.

I am so excited to see what this year has in store for the MVES family! We have a lot of amazing things planned so stay tuned!

 

 
 
Secretary: Katy Stone
 

Hi MVES families,

My name is Katy Stone and this will be my first year on the PTO board. I have a daughter, Hollis, going into 2nd grade and a 4 year old son, Hutch, who will be a future Cougar. 

If I am not driving my kids to way too many activities, then I am trying to make it to the gym for a bit of me time, or decorating sugar cookies for someone’s birthday, baby shower or holiday event. 

Last year I loved volunteering at the school and getting to know the amazing front office staff at MVES. This year I look forward to being at the school more often and being your PTO secretary.
