Read-A-Thon Kicks Off on Oct 17th and will go until Nov 1st.
The Read-A-Thon Spirit Week is Oct 25-28:
Tuesday - "Words on Me" Wear a shirt with writing
Wednesday - Black-Out Day, wear all black and read in the dark with a flashlight
Thursday - MVES Spirit Wear
Friday - Dress-up as your favorite book character
The Read-A-Thon seeks to emphasize the importance of reading by encouraging students to read at least 10 minutes a day for 10 school days. They are encouraged to seek donations from parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends to support their reading achievement.
The money raised during the Read-A-Thon is used by the school for classroom and general school improvment funds. The money raised during in the past was used to replace 15 SMART Boards, 13 IPads, and a door entry card reader system and helped with playground improvement.
